Transport of the Future

Mobility and transport are things that we all deal with in our daily lifes. But with an ever growing population and an increasing call for improvements in sustainability and safety the question arises, what does the future of transport look like?

Moving people from A to B in a safe and efficient manner is and will always be an important topic. Sustainability has moved much higher up the list of priorities in recent times. So maybe now more than ever innovationis required in this field from completely new ideas to improving current solutions.

StartHub Wageningen is excited to host an event on “The Future of Transport”, on Tuesday, October 3rd from 19:00-21:00 at Plus Ultra II. Where we will be joined by speakers from companies in the transport industry:

1️⃣ Cem Celikbas is team captain at Delft Hyperloop, he has a final responsibility for making their hyperloop a success. Delft Hyperloop is known as a so-called D:Dream team from the Delft University of Technology. It is a non-profit organization that exists to stimulate #innovations.This year, one of their goals is to work on developing a fully levitating pod, which is a crucial step towards finalizing the #Hyperloop concept. Delft Hyperloop is developing a climate-neutral, scalable hyperloop system, becoming the fifth mode of transportation by reaching speeds over 1000 km/h.


2️⃣ Maria Rodrigues is a senior project manager in the transport and mobility unit at Panteia. She graduated with a Master in Spatial Planning Engineering from the IST-Technical University of Lisbon. Working in the field of #transport and #mobility since 2006, gaining considerable experience in the management of National, European and International projects. She is responsible for the development of the company’s segment plan for EU Transport.


3️⃣ Angie Breugelmans is working as the sustainability manager at Volvo Trucks Nederland. In that role she is helping to create a more #sustainable transport sector through partnerships and personal engagement. Volvo trucks has had sustainability on the agenda since the seventies and are leading the way to a more sustainable truck industry. They do this by using #recycled materials and developing trucks that can run on alternative #fuel sources.
