Christiaan de Koning

Starthub mentor

Christiaan is an avid deep tech enthusiast who enjoys working with science-entrepreneurs. He is the founder of a transatlantic network between Oxford (UK) and Boston (US) for founders, funders, and local stakeholders: Founders and Funders. He holds a PhD in Management & Innovation from Christ Church college, University of Oxford. His research focuses on the commercialisation of new biotechnology (e.g. CRISPR).

Christiaan works with many early stage science start-ups through involvement with incubators, accelerators, VC, and PE mainly in the UK and EU. He was a jury member of the WUR’s 2020 Atlas Invest Entrepreneurship Grant Finals.

I enjoy working with science-entrepreneurs (sole founders or teams) that want to build a venture around a new technology, process, or invention alike. This can be a R&D heavy venture facing high uncertainty or an advanced concept for which you are seeking the right market fit.

I help early career academics or scientists to get started and to think through the process of how to tackle the challenges that are inevitably part of this process. Drop me an email if you would like to have a coffee and discuss.
