In our search for alternative protein sources, these small critters might be able to make a big difference! To find out whether such a transition to insects in food is feasible, we invited actors in this field to share their opinion. Join our panel to hear more about the political, business, technical and opposing views on insect consumption!

Circular by nature; the availability and quality of water is crucial for the humans, and the environment. However, the current water crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Urban water demand leads to higher wastewater and water pollution depleting our natural resources and affecting the ecosystems. Climate change further exacerbates pre-existing water stresses. 

On 28th of February, from 19:00-21:00, StartHub is organising “Into the Blue” to shed light on how businesses offer circular ecosystem solutions that embrace resilience and inclusiveness of nature. 

From maintenance of coral reefs and its impact on livelihoods, to looking at water filtering systems particularly salient in urban areas.

The theme of the evening is water, and how new technologies can harness and use water’s potential to make an impact. As with all StartHub Wageningen events, there will be the chance to meet up and chat with other audience members, entrepreneurs and speakers after the event.

Wednesday June 1st Hajar Yagkoubi will be present at our Wednesday Drink, which will be about “Making Impact”! Hajar is a keynote speaker, former UN youth delegate, and climate activist. She is a bridge between the corporate world and her activistic-generation and advocates for ways in which firms can embody sustainability and climate action. Hajar will tell about her drivers, experience, and open the discussion on how you can start making a sustainable impact for students and entrepreneurs!

Diversity week will include a special Wednesday Drink!

The Wednesday Drink on the 16th of March will be extended with a discussion circle about diversity in the working world. This topic will be introduced by Anja Sinke, one of StartHub’s mentors. Anja will talk about her own experience regarding diversity in the working environment and, thereby, open the discussion! Moreover, Anja is very passionate about presenting yourself well on LinkedIn, so as a bonus she will present all her do’s and don’ts!

All of this will be accompanied by intercultural snacks and drinks, which will be (partly) brought by our StartHub community!

Ever wondered how personal strengths can become team strengths and how a diverse group can have the best of many? Come to our interactive session: hear passionate speakers and experience how to unlock the potential within your team. Join us Tuesday the 15th!

The evening will start with two passionate speakers who will take us with them into their stories. After every story, there will be time for a Q&A. After a small break, we will listen to our 3rd speaker who will give a small interactive workshop to help build successful teams with the power of diversity.

On Monday the 14th of March we'll kick off our Diversity Week with our Female Founder Lunch. During this lunch, our female founders will share stories and discuss their experiences with each other. Are you interested in starting a venture yourself or curious about how they overcame the struggles they faced? This is your chance to ask them your questions

Want to get to know StartHub & ESN? And do you want to improve your pitching skills?

On the 18th of January ESN and Starthub will organise a workshop about improvisation in relation to pitching. Are you nervous to take the stage, to present or do you want to know how to better present your ideas? Then this workshop is something for you. In the business world you should be able to pitch about anything at any moment. Are you up for the challenge? This event is online and starts at 20:00 and will take around 1 hour.

Ever wondered what urban areas will look like in 50 years? Ever wondered how housing will develop in the future? Ever wondered what is being done right now to ensure our cities are sustainable?

Tuesday, October 26th, StartHub Wageningen is organising “Creating Green Cities”. During the event, you will be able to create your green city and hear speakers talk about the current challenges of creating a green city. That way you will leave the event being more informed and having hands-on experience with tackling struggles facing green cities. And of course, there will be a network drink to top it all off!
